Made from Ash from Sussex’s woodland, this beautiful 30cm plate was hand turned in Brighton.The burned effect is created using a japanese technique called Shou Sugi Ban, that burns the wood to preserve it. Here it’s mainly used for aestetic purposes but is a nice nod to the true craftmanship of Japanese woodwork.
